A question regarding a certain arcane barrier

It acts as a physical barrier as well, which is toggleable by a lever and scaleable. I've so far roleplayed getting a power source for it, as well as researching wards and things to have it be a viable thing to have covering my little tent ICly. How would I go about putting this in place if you'd allow me to have it? Thanks. - Friandir
