    [Notice][Bounty] The Rat Pack

More bounty posters appear, this time specifically only on the isle of Opej'nor once again on recycled parchment with an image of a rather cocky looking human bandit. As with others, this bears the signature of Baron West The poster reads: "WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE. Two members of the bandit gang known as the 'Rat Pack' Wanted for the waylaying and robbery of a citizen of New Moonbrook. Known members of this gang consist so far of a duo: a human and a mag'har Orc, the latter believed to be armed with a gun. They are believed to operate as part of a larger group. These criminal pigs were spotted close to the Trailblazer settlement at the foot of the Wizard's Enclave Tower in south-eastern Opej'nor. These bandits are wanted on the following charges of: One Count of Highway & Armed Robbery One Count of Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft Rewards are as follows: A SUM OF FIFTY SILVER FOR EACH OF THESE TWO BANDITS SLAIN. PROOF TO BE BROUGHT WITH THEIR HEADS. A SUM OF ONE GOLD AND FIFTY SILVER FOR EACH OF THESE TWO BANDITS BROUGHT TO NEW MOONBROOK ALIVE AND IN CHAINS TO FACE PUNISHMENT FOR THEIR CRIME A sum of five gold pieces will be rewarded to individuals who come forward with substantial information on this 'gang' known as the Rat Pack that leads to the utter dismantlement of aforementioned gang.

  4. A number of bounty posters are printed on a rather plain recycled parchment found commonly in the Doldrums, upon this one stands a fierce hooded looking Dwarvern woman in dark cultist-like robes with flaming incantations present. These letters make their way to major settlements but unusually for something marked with the Baron's signature it also appears in the city-ruin of Tordala. The poster itself reads: "WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE. Warlock of unknown name hereby referred to as 'Heinrich's Bane' Wanted for the murder of Captain Heinrich of the Alliance Combined Arms Brigade and an unnamed Kaldorei sentinel of the same aforementioned brigade. This warlock was found responsible for the summoning of a demonic succubus which slew and took the form of Captain Heinrich of the Alliance before also slaying a member of the brigade, culprit is wanted on the following charges by Baron Timothy West and the settlement of New Moonbrook: Impersonating an Alliance Captain Magical influence over Alliance soldiers Two counts of murder High Treason Falsifying documents Inciting war Alliance soldiers under the command of the Captain were found to have been enthralled by the demon until it was slain by heroic adventurers from Drustgarde and Tordala. Upon the elimination of the demon, a warlock believed to be a Dwarvern Female was found escaping the scene using a hearthstone. Those with information as to the location or whereabouts of Heinrich's Bane should report to Miss Mythglancer of Tordala, Governor Haytham of Drustgarde or Baron West of New Moonbrook. A SUM OF 25 GOLD IS OFFERED FOR THE WARLOCK'S HEAD A SUM OF 50 GOLD IS OFFERED FOR THE WARLOCK BROUGHT ALIVE, GAGGED, BOUND IN ANTI-MAGIC MANACLES AND DISARMED TO NEW MOONBROOK TO BE SUMMARILY EXECUTED"

    [Event] Reaving The Reavers

Where: Ruined twilight encampment west of Haven When: Wednesday 17th July 8pm server-time Who: Anyone on a non-hostile level with Haven due to proximity of Haven forward base camp Event Type: NPC clearance GM Assistance: Not essential but would be appreciated for highlighting any burrows present or if one sand reaver looks like its going to morph (see objectives below) In the late of night due west of Haven, the guards keeping watch over the ruins of the Twilight camp would become familiar with the eerie clicking and skittering noises that now permeated the night as well as the day Sand Reavers. Horrific multi-legged monstrosities with pincers capable of cleaving an Alliance steam tank in two and with chintenous plating as strong as the aforementioned tank, these things are a challange and not to be taken lightly. Sat on a rocky outcrop looking over the skittering beasts was Baron West, a bowl of hot stew bubbling beside him on a low campfire with its flame concealed from any would-be onlookers "Look at them, skittering around consuming corpses of cultists... and after what happened that one time at Drustgarde all those months ago I know that if these things are left undisturbed one of them will morph into a queen and that is when shit will -truely- hit the proverbial Gnomish fan... especially when it lays a clutch of thousands..." He sits back for a moment, memories of the Sand Reaver Siege of Drustgarde came flashing back to him.... He looks eagerly and carefully at rocks as the moon catches their marble tops and the light of the moon reflects off the still Doldrums sea... "one... two.... three... four" he mutters, counting the armoured killing machines with distain He sighs deeply, putting out the fire and pouring the stew into a corked flask before sliding down a vine from his concealed position and skulking off back to Haven "At least Drustgarde were prepared when a Queen Sand Reaver appeared on their doorstep and had a huge number of troops and heroes there, I somehow think that Haven would be wholly unprepared for such a battle... best call in the troops I reckon..." Event Objectives: Main Objective: Feeling Broody? Kill the Sand Reaver that looks as though it is about to morph into a queen Sand Reaver. Bonus Objectives: Eviction Notice Have the means to, and successfully burn out any Sand Reaver burrows that may be in the area. Biting off more than you can chew Successfully defeat two or more Sand Reavers in a single engagement with no-one incapacitated. Clean Sweep Successfully defeat all four Sand Reavers with no-one incapacitated.

A few hours before the brawl begins, word spreads that Elder Charrbone and Doldrosh Bloodfury have entered themselves into the tournament. However, they have stressed that whilst they will be partaking in the competition, they will hold no claim to any prizes or titles during the event. It is strictly for entertainment on their end.
  11. On Unknown Shores we have several positions: Admins, Head Keepers, Curators, Helpers, Keepers, Builders and Dungeon Masters. The Helpers and Curators are the main support and moderators while the Keepers and Dungeon Masters are those who wish to host events and storylines. You can find descriptions of what we all do below as well as information on how to apply if you wish to help out. Important to remember is that we all follow the policies outlined in the server rules, should you discover that a member of the staff team is breaking these rules please contact any Admin, Head Keeper or Curator immediately. Admin The admins are the head of the server, currently it consists solely of Varen. If you are having trouble that cannot be addressed by a Helper or Curator, you are welcome to contact him, though programming or bug related questions are best suited as he is best equipped to deal with it. Otherwise, there are no special assignments, helping out with what he can to keep the server running smoothly. Head Keeper The Head Keeper's duties mainly consist in organising the Lore, story and setting of Unknown Shores, as well as managing the Keepers in the Staff Team. As they write and oversee the Lore of Unknown Shores, any question about the server that errs on such side is best directed to them, if a normal Keeper can not answer. It must also be noted, however, that their duties also include other types of "logistics" like the creation of systems and rulings to further develop the server, alongside the Admins. Curator Communication within the community is vital to the server, both on the forums and on Discord. Your job is to keep it civil and to help newcomers get oriented. In terms of moderation you use the community rules as a guide to keep the server a place people want to spend their free time. A lot of the work consists on directing discussions to the right forum and remind people to keep a civil tone. You are also there to greet newcomers and show them the ropes, point them to guides, guilds, Discord and so on. The task of keeping the forums up to date and overseeing the server's moderation also falls mainly to them. Helper Your job as a Helper should be obvious from the name, you're there to help people. Specifically you are there when someone needs help in-game, if they encounter a bug, need help navigating the RPG... You are the support of the server, as such you will be there to ensure people do not abuse systems or their peers. Ever since the inclusion of these in the RPG System, they are also tasked with setting up mechanical entities ingame, such as payboxes. Keeper Making the world feel alive is a tough job and one that requires a bit of commitment, the Keepers are those who wish to be there to provide encounters and world interactions for our adventurers. Maybe a Keeper observes a party of scavengers rummage through a lair of some beast or other, they make a cub appear and play out the interaction with the scavengers. Or they post a bounty on the noticeboard for a dread bandit, our adventurers take up the hunt. Or some old bum is playing dice outside the bar, betting a few silver, maybe cheating or just lucky, a few adventurers play a game or two. Interactions like these are the work of the Keepers. As a Keeper, if accepted, you will join for a Trial period, after which the Head Keeper will review whether you'll join the team permanently or not. Builder Your job as a Builder is clear: you build scenarios. Builders are individuals that prefer to help by decorating or constructing the scenery for players. They are contacted mainly by Keepers so that the Builders can come up and craft a scenario adequate to the Keeper's needs so the players can carry out the roleplay in an immersive setting. They may also be contacted under other circumstances, however. They are unsung, yet their efforts are appreciated as much as any other's. - - - Special Positions - - - Dungeon Master Being a Dungeon Master is not a full-time job, instead you become one for the duration of a planned event or storyline. Anyone is welcome to try their hand and we encourage you to give it a shot at least once. As a DM you will have all the in-game permissions necessary to host RP sessions, be it a dungeon crawl or a religious rite. Your 'tenure' as a DM will last as long as you need it to, if you need a week or two to prepare for an event, you will have that time and enough to clean up afterwards. Anyone who wishes to host a storyline needs to go through this process, be they a member of staff or a player. If you wish to host an event or storyline you will need to make an outline of what it is you wish to do and present it to the Staff. If you like you can even do it with a friend or two and share the workload. Think of this as the preparation a DM does before a Pen&Paper session. When you have your outline you post it to the Scriptorium forum, don't worry only you and the Council can see your post, and unless there is any clashes with other events or lore you will be given access to a Dungeon Master account. If there are any issues with the outline we'll help you sort it out. A few examples of outlines can be found in the post below but do not be afraid to innovate and make your own template, they do not need to be elaborate, it is only there to give us an idea of what you are doing and if you were to unexpectedly disappear (accidents happen. . .) we can carry on based on that information. Outline Examples: Big Storyline: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tAbyxfaNEnJd-YIE8oYQBoe-EmMWpJMsfaT8D24lWOg/edit?usp=drivesdk Dungeon Crawl: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jNrq2DZFM95aHPXxumWqMkQY1S2WSVDKk_IWkVnFYzw/edit?usp=drivesdk Founders A special mention, the founders are the original creators of the server: Varen, Vrahn, Axis48 and Nostra. Mainly a honorary position, these individuals were the ones that first carried out the idea that is Unknown Shores, and developed it. Though some of them might be "retired", they have been the ones that "birthed" the server, and may still hop in or help the server, from time to time. If you wish to join the team and help run the server, post the application below in the Staff Contact forum. Mind that Dungeon Masters have a different application process detailed in their description above. Application: Age: Characters played: Discord Tag: What timezone do you live in: When do you usually play: What role do you want to have: Have you ever been a staff member for a server or RP community before; If so, where and when: Please tell us a little about yourself:

    [Event] The Celebration of Heroes

  23. Heroes. What does it mean to you? A hero can be defined in many ways. They can be someone of great admiration, known for noble qualities or outstanding achievements. A hero depends on who the mindset or ideology of that person may be, where others might not see the admirable qualities of that particular person, another may see this clear as the blue sky. In times of desperation, conflict and peace, heroes have always come to aid those who need it, and act as a light in the darkness when all seems dim around them. The Flamespire Clan know many heroes, Thrall, Warchief of the New Horde. Cairne Bloodhoof, Chieftain of the Tauren. Sen'jin, Chieftain of the Darkspear before his son, Vol'jin. In times of great peril on the Doldrums, the Doldrosh has called for a celebration of such heroes. This celebration however, is not strictly tied to the Horde. There are heroes among both the Horde and Alliance, and the world, that are known by all. Broxigar the Red, Bolvar Fordragon, Saurfang the Younger and more who stood not only for their factions, but for Azeroth. All are welcome to the village of Mag'Gol, a growing village of the Flamespire Clan just east of the mountain. In addition to these celebrations, a tournament of sorts shall be held known as the Brawl of Heroes. The rules are as followed: - The Brawl is a fight of strength and martial prowess between two fighters. It is a brawl until the other opponent cannot continue. Armor and weapons are prohibited, and magic is excluded. Only your body may be used to fight fist, feet, teeth and more. - There will be no fighting to the death. If an opponent is knocked unconscious, the fight will end there. Failure to comply will result in immediate disqualification. If it is felt a fight is getting too heated and may result in death, a break shall be issued. - Good sportsmanship shall be given. Each fighter shall give respect to the opposite faction before, during and after the brawl. It is a celebration, and not a means of one-upping another faction. More rules shall be outlined in the future if need be. Additionally, the Doldrosh has sought to reward those of notable placements with the following prizes: 1st Place - A Breastplate from Devon's Library, and one thousand silver, and the title Arena Master. 2nd Place - A Weapon of their choice crafted by Mik'turok (Mats provided by the Clan), and a five hundred silver prize. 3rd Place - A five hundred silver prize. Special Mentions or Notices may be given to those who show respect, honor and showmanship during these games. When the games are concluded, a small feast shall be held to commemorate the victors and sing songs and tales of Heroes past. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: Where: Mag'Gol (Just east of Grom'Thar). When: Sunday 14th of July 9 PM ST (8 PM BST) Who: Any race or non-hostile faction. (Any infiltrators from hostile forces will be publicly executed in the pit before the or during breaks during the festivities.) GM Assistance: Not entirely. If GM assistance is required I shall speak with them prior just in case. GMs are free to do anything spontaneous though! Combat Guidelines: - The fight will use RPG Checks to determine the fight as it goes on. Physical skills such as Acrobatics, Athletics etc will be used, although most of the combat will be based around Martial Skills with Strength or Dexterity rolls depending on the choice of the fighter. Situational rolls will be asked for by a DM, for example if your character is loosing footing they may be asked to do an Acrobatics check. - Each fighter will be given a set HP pool (to provide a fair way of giving and taking damage). The amount of HP will be determined by your CON Stat. For example if you have 6 CON, you have 6 HP Points. - Damage will be decided as followed; If you fail a defensive roll against an attacking roll, you will loose 1 HP Point. Critical rolls (purples) will cause you to loose 2 HP. The person who reaches 0 HP will be knocked out. Anyone who reaches negative HP (whether they've been critted on 1 HP or the other fighter decides to take things to far, RP is RP ofcourse) will be given injuries dependent on the DM. - Roll orders will be determined by a roll for initiative. A simple 1d20 will decide who goes first. The roll order will go one to one unless a DM pauses the fight to force a situational roll as mentioned above. Anyone wishing to partake in the tournament must contact me on discord or ICly to sign up. That way I can make a roster of who is fighting and a table of the fights. I will also inform you all of how this will be done and carried out shortly!

Guild Type: Settlement Affiliation: Alliance Guild Leader: Timothy West (Dascombe) Guild Officer(s): TBA Accepted Races: Worgen, Kaldorei, Gnomes, Dwarves, High Elves, Draenei, Humans Intro For a long time upon the Doldrums the Alliance had never truely flown the golden lion of Stormwind upon these lands, to grant those who yearned for it 'civilization' in the heart of this untamed land. There were those who were once known as the Ironbound: mercenaries, fighters and wizards without goal or direction and now a disbanded memory with one or two of their surviviors now wandering nomads in these isles. The fortress-port of 'Drustgarde' still stands to this day with its previous leader Haytham now walking a different path it has now passed on to Lady Abigalle Springfield who has seen fit to assist the Zandalari trolls with the construction of an embassy upon the shores of Opej'nor. The esteemed hunter and nobleman Baron Timothy West sought to form a solution to this: a settlement in the Doldrums upon Opej'nor flying the flag of the Alliance high and proud atop the jungle canopy for all to see, providing rest and respite to those of the more noble races of Azeroth from the chaos and calamity of the politics of the Doldrums and its weary inhabitants. The journey will be long and difficult, a great many obstacles and challenges lie ahead for the nobleman and his budding entourage as not only will the wilds of the Doldrums seek to devour them but the enemies of the Alliance lie around every corner. Though there may be foes, friends also lie in wait! The eccentric settlement of Egtown and its namesake Mayor Eg lie on the doorstep of New Moonbrook willing and able to lend a hand where needed as will other forces loyal to the ideals for which the Alliance stands for. Should the madness keeping us all imprisoned here be vanquished, then let this be the first Alliance colony upon these isles! And should we be bound here for eternity, then let this town stand as a pinnacle for all that the Alliance holds dear! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ OOC Salutations all. Cheers for taking the time to read up this draft for 'New Moonbrook'. For those who have skipped the relevant bit, this guild is an Alliance themed guild and will likely revolve around the focus of guild based conflict with those who are typically seen as enemies to the Alliance (or perceived enemies, we -are- in the Doldrums after all) this guild will act as a 'go to' spot for anyone wishing to engage in Alliance-specific RP and act very much in a counter way to the (predominantly) Orcish inhabitants of the Flamespire Clan. This is not to say it will result in a neverending case of red vs blue however do consider the common knowledge that an old god rules this realm and that their advantage is based around spinning conflict between mortals. That having been said this guild will focus around settlement construction / expansion with a possibility later on for military / political themes to start to appear but initially there will be a sort of 'survial' element in play. If you have any questions about the guild don't hesitate to drop a message below in the comments section or PM this group account directly ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Goals The current goals of New Moonbrook may change over time and these are by no means a definitive list Short term: Construct a basic settlement / camp Have all the basic means for survival (food sources, water, sanitation etc) Establish a 'Watch' Medium term: Strike alliances with other Alliance-aligned factions in the Doldrums Construct a seafaring vessel and establish mooring rights with Egtown Long term: Establish a thriving city Pledges When pledging please write down your character name, forum name and your professions if applicable. If you prefer to keep your character's identity secret then do PM us discreetly.

    Architect Tweak Additions

Hey guys. Real quick one for those who are architects, i'd like to recommend the following additions if they are possible: 1.) The addition of 0.01 movement increments. This is possible on GM accounts and to my knowledge it goes smaller than that (not tested how much smaller though), its a handy little tool as i've noticed that lining up objects with others can cause minor clipping issues that can't be solved to the up-down-left-right nature of the movement system and so it would certainly benefit the movement of objects to a finer level. This is especially the case for -VERY- small items such as foodstuffs, cutlery, plates etc 2.) The option of 1.0 and less item scales. This allows for things such as statues or tiny little tweaks such as setting out a map with Alliance and Horde banners scaled down on it as miniatures. The reason I suggest a downward scale rather than a upward scale is to prevent people scaling up wall pieces to monstrous sizes to prevent higher wall coverage.
